RL- 83 Blindicide (de-milled)

Developed by Mecar SA of Belgium in the 1960’s, the 83 mmm Blindicide is an improved derivative of the 1950’s Era US M1A1 (M20A1) “Super Bazooka”.  It’s name is derived from the French  v’ehicule blinde’ (armored car) and the suffix- cide meaning to kill.

The RL-83 Blindicide is primarily an antitank rocket launcher but can fire other rockets.

The RL-83 has increased range and effectiveness compared to the US Bazooka. Additionally, it is light weight construction. The barrel is relatively thin aluminum tubing with a synthetic shell for additional strength. An additional benefit of the synthetic shell is the sound muffling effect when handled compared to the all-aluminum US Bazooka.

The Launching tube is two-part construction which folds and locks for transport.  It is equipped with a detachable shield for the operator.

The RL-83 version was used by Israeli Defense Forces during the Yom Kippur War and the Six-Day War. Our Blindicides were made for Israel and have apparently seen little use. (Note the color and Hebrew). They are INERT non-firing BATF compliant with a neatly drilled bore size hole and a blocking bar welded across the tube.

They come complete with the original transit chest and are in very good condition. They are a scarce item imported in the late 1990’s and we only have a few. It is unlikely that more of these will ever be available.
